How to Conceal Dark Under Eye Circles

Do you hate those dark circles under your eyes? You are not alone. As a makeup artists this is one of the most common concerns that I hear from women of all ages. Don't fret, there are things you can do to minimize this.

The first important part of solving this problem is the concealer you choose. You want to choose a creamy concealer in a salmon kind of color. I know it sounds weird but this is important. Dark circles under your eyes generally have blue undertones and that is why you need a concealer with orange undertones. Orange is opposite from blue on the color wheel and therefore will neutralize the dark circles under your eyes.

dab the salmon colored concealer under your eyes with your finger or makeup brush. Do not cake it on as this can cause it to settle in fine lines and look cakey. After you have your magic concealer on then you can go ahead and put your regular foundation on as you normally do and it will blend perfectly and you will look flawless!

DO NOT use a concealer that is a LIGHTER color then the rest of your face. Women often think using this light color will block out the darkness but this really isn't the case. What this really does is, it highlights the area under the eyes bringing that area forward and thus making your eyes look puffy.  I know you don't want that, so please put the bright "whiteish"  under eye concealer down.

Also women often think to use yellow. Yellow neutralizes purple so if you feel the undertones of your dark circles are more purple then blue you can try to something with more yellow undertones but in my experience salmon seems to work the best because most dark circles are blueish.
